Customs Offices
To avoid delays and objections when arriving from abroad, passengers must declare their belongings, specially those that, with a useful life of less than three years, could be confused with similar objects bought outside the country, such as notebooks, camcorders or cameras.
Those who come back to Argentina by airplane have a tax exemption of 600 dollars. Half of this amount comprises the items bought in the Duty Free Shop and the other half those articles that come in the luggage. If the tax exemption limit is exceeded, a 50% charge on the purchase value has to be paid. For this purpose it is strongly recommended to keep the bills of the items bought abroad.
There are special restrictions for cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.
